A Country of Contrasts

But what else do you call a place where you could happily slalom between penguins waddling on the Cape and lions stalking the bushveld, cinematic coastal switchbacks and burnt Kalahari sand, the oldest wine industry outside Europe and cutting edge fusion cuisine?

Cape Town, always first!

You really can’t overstate the case for visiting Cape Town. First, there’s the in-your-face beauty of a craggy mountain range that drops precipitously into a glittering sea, its flanks carpeted in green. Then there’s the pristine white beaches lapped by – it must be said – a chilly Atlantic, their curves defined by giant granite boulders to bake on, and burbling mountain streams in dappled forests.

The Big Five of course

That's lion, elephant, Cape buffalo, leopard and rhino, in case you weren't sure. And then there's hippo, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, meerkats, wild dogs, kudu, hyena and ostrich. All free-roaming in one national park, where luxury tenting awaits!

And then there is the wine!

There are more than 150 cellars in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, both part of the Winelands region (45 minutes away from Cape Town). There, you can also explore art galleries, sip more wine and sample local dishes in gracious Cape Dutch estates

All activities are optional in attendance

Day 1: Welcome to Cape Town

After being transferred to your villa by our private driver, unpack and relax before we make our way to the famous waterfront, its African Modern Art museum and a lovely sunset at the top of the remarkable Silo Hotel. It is followed by a 3-course dinner, with wine pairings, held in their private and eclectic dinning room.

Day 2: Cape Town: Bo Kaap - Table Mountain

This morning, we meet up with our local certified guide who takes us on a history and cultural tour, including the colorful district of Bo Kaap. After lunch at a local hang out serving traditional Cape Malay cuisine, we make our way to Table Mountain via its cable car. The mountain is one of the 7th new wonders of the world and boasts stunning views of the whole peninsula. Our day ends back at the villa where our chef has prepared a 3-course dinner with wine pairings.

Day 3: Cape Town

Mid-day, we head to the Woodstock district and the famous market at the old biscuit. The colorful neighborhood originally began with a few fishermen’s houses and farm cottages. There, we uncover local artisans but most importantly, incredible local food stalls and live music. A few feet away, we are expected for a gin tasting. After a stop at one of our favorite eateries in the shadow of Table Mountain, we arrive at Kirstenbosch gardens. Tonight, dinner is served at the villa by our local chef, paired with lovely local wines.

Day 4: Cape Peninsula - Cape of Good Hope

This whole day activity is a circle a Table Mountain National Park. We start with a stop in the eclectic seaside town of Kaulk Bay. We then continue to the Penguin colony, where we are given a chance to walk among them (sighting not guaranteed for that part). Our journey then takes us to Cape of Good Hope, said to the the most southern point in Africa. We end with a stop at a winery in Constantia and a drive through Chapman's peak for sunset. Tonight, Mikael takes you to his favorite restaurant in town.

Day 5: Winelands

This morning, the wine fairy meets us in the winelands for a day to be remembered. After carefully selecting 2-3 wineries based on our guests preferences, we start a fun and incredible wine tour in an incredible setting. For lunch, we have prepared for you a picnic in the vineyard. Tonight is at leisure and dining recommendations in town will be provided, or simply enjoy your wine farm with an in-house traditional dinner.

Day 6: Franschhoek

This morning is at leisure. Several activities will be suggested, including biking, more wine tasting or spa treatments. This afternoon, we have organized a horseback riding excursion for you, with wine tasting, of course. Tonight, our chef has prepared yet another incredible culinary experience, paired with local wines of your choice.

Our journey to Kruger National park begins. After a short flight to Kruger, our team greets you and whisks you away to your luxury tented lodge for 3 nights (for the June departure, accommodations will be luxury huts).
