Revel in the finest traditions of Irish hospitality on this indulgent luxury experience, thrill to magnificent scenery, including the Ring of Kerry, and enjoy heartfelt country welcomes as you take in a sheepdog demonstration, enjoy tastings of Guinness and whiskey, and stay at some of the country’s finest five-star hotels.
Hosted by one of our finest journey directors, make the most of this journey through Western Ireland by doing as much..or as little as you'd like.
Invite yourself into locals' homes and farms as we uncover the legendary hospitality of the Irish people. As we contemplate and admire the beauty of their country, we mingle and learn more about their pride, their customs, their culinary traditions and their history.
Our driving tour exposes us to some of the most beautiful and natural sites in the World. Well preserved and cared for by the locals, enjoy the sight of century old castles, cemeteries, forests and towns. Here, nature keeps on giving. At every turn, we uncover the true beauty of this island nation, nicknamed, rightfully so, the Emerald Isle.
On arrival in Shannon (guests interested in adding Dublin to their itinerary will receive a complimentary transfer from there), you are greeted by your Art In Voyage hosts and start your journey north towards the Connemara district region. Along the way, we uncover the beautiful coast of Ireland and its fishing villages. On arrival, you are treated to a spa, gently washing off the effects of jet lag before enjoying with us a welcome dinner in a private setting of the castle.
Today, we spend a full day discovering the Connemara National Park, looking for remote wildness and natural beauty. The villages of Connemara will stretch out before you like a colorful road map of communities and hidden gems just waiting to be explored. Each town or village has its own distinct character and local culture. We will stop for a lunch picnic in the park, and won't forget to enjoy an afternoon tea at Kylemore Abbey's Victorian walled gardens. Tonight, dinner is at leisure.
After a lovely breakfast, we depart for Galway county with a drive through Killary harbor and the coastline. For lunch, we will stop in beautiful Galway where we will enjoy the quintessential pairing of Guinness Stout with fresh Galway Bay Oysters. There, you will have a few hours to discover the town before we make our way to our home for the next two nights, the lovely Glenlo Abbey Estate. Dinner is at leisure
After breakfast, we start our pilgrimage to the Cliffs of Moher. Really, you are coming for one of two things: the staggering height of the rock face, and the even more staggering beauty of the views from the top. Soaring to 702 feet, the striated stone reaches its long fingers southward to counties Cork and Kerry beyond, with a keen eye from O'Brien's Tower even able to spot the Aran Islands to the north. A lunch stop will be organized before continuing our drive through Clare county. Upon returning, we are met by the property's whiskey connoisseur for a tasting of 3 of their best ones, which is followed by lovely tasting dinner with wine pairings, in one of their two Pullman Orient Express cars.
On our way south, we stop in Limerick where we are greeted by a local historian for a walking tour of the town and its main sites. We continue our day of culture, seeking tradition and authenticity by making a personal connection to our host country through the visit of a traditional family dairy farm. Hear about the rural life from family members, and then join them for a home-cooked farm lunch, on this unique experience. Our last leg takes us to the beautiful Killarney National Park where we check in to our hotel and savor a Scenic Sundowner overlooking the water. Dinner is at leisure.
The Ring of Kerry is a true photographers’ paradise - wildlife river, coastal and forest - stunning scenery that changes as the light dances to the tune of the incoming Atlantic weather. We ride in a traditional jaunting car to venture even closer to this natural beauty. Then, set out for a breathtaking coastal drive, where every turn in the road reveals new and ever-more-stunning vistas. Pause to peruse local handicrafts in the Gap of Dunloe, then enjoy a demonstration of Irish sheepdogs and their indispensable skills. Dinner will be held at our beautiful property, with wine pairings.
On this last leg of our journey, we drive Ireland’s wild southern shore through rugged West Cork to visit a third-generation family-owned emporium that specializes in authentic, locally produced food products — meats, cheeses, chutney, preserves and more. Meet some of the shop’s suppliers and enjoy a lunch completely sourced nearby. We arrive in Cork in the middle of the afternoon, giving you enough time to enjoy strolling its streets before our farewell dinner at our favorite Michelin-starred eatery.
This morning, you are transferred to Shannon airport where you connect with your flight home. You may also tell us to "wait a minute" and we will be delighted to assist in setting up an extension to Killkenny, Dublin, Belfast or anywhere beyond.
