For having done that route many times with past guests, he knows this is the best sampling one can have of France. And for our guests who want more, let us design the perfect extension to Bordeaux or Provence. On this journey, you will be pampered with private guided tours of the featured destinations, some time to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscapes and sites, and some incredible culinary experiences.

Our itinerary covers a large territory, yet remains flexible as always. Join our scheduled tours and activities, or stay behind (maybe have a lazy morning at the castle?); It is your time and your vacation. Should you prefer to do something different, our host will be delighted to plan a side-activity while ensuring you do not miss out on those that tickle your fancy.
Discovering France also means understanding the local culture and the country's history. Yet, we also know that too much of it can be..well, too much of it. So we have created a balanced itinerary, inviting you to discover, without excess, France's traditions, culture and history through the eyes of our local historian-guides.
One would not have covered France's most sacred traditions and culture without uncovering into its food and wine best kept secrets. On this journey, we have made sure to take you through a true feast of the senses through your palate by including a few of our favorite culinary experiences.
Our hosts pick you up at the airport and whisks you away to your property. An early check-in will be required. Nonetheless, after a light lunch (own account), our local guide awaits for a private overview tour of the city of lights. On this tour, you will cover the quite essential: A cruise on the Seine river, a visit of the left bank (Notre Dame and St Germain des Pres), the Louvres (exterior and Tuileries) as well as the Champs Elysee and a sunset on the Eiffel Tower, where we hold our welcome dinner.
This morning, we have kept it at leisure. Relax or make your way to one of the museums for which we have included tickets: Louvres, Orsay or Georges Pompidou. This afternoon, for guests interested, we head to Versailles. We start with a lovely picnic in the park of Versailles. We continued with a guided tour of the palace followed by some time in the gardens and the Marie-Antoinette estate. We spend the evening in the beautiful town of Versailles where we have dinner (own account)
After breakfast, we depart for the Loire Valley. In its heart lie tens of castles, from the 9th to the 18th century. Former home of kings, counts or other nobles, these well preserved pieces of France's history are a marvel and the region itself boats some incredible landscapes as well as lively towns and villages. We start with one of our favorites, Amboise, which is also where we stop for lunch in the old square. After an afternoon visiting Chenonceaux, we make our way to our very own castle, home for the next two nights. Dinner is at leisure, with our recommendations.
Today, we uncover more secrets of the Loire Valley region. We have included two additional castles which we discover on a self-guided tour. We will also experience some of the region's excellent wine (mostly white) with a tasting and lunch at one of the local estates. Tonight, we invite you to join us for an exceptional culinary experience at a local Michelin-starred restaurant, to include excellent regional wines.
This morning, we make our way to neighboring Burgundy. On the way, we stop in some of the most incredible small towns and villages of Burgundy, including famed Semur en Auxois where we enjoy lunch followed by a visit to a local estate for a cellar tour and wine tasting. We arrive in the walled town of Beaune late afternoon, providing you time to relax, enjoy a stroll through the cobblestone streets and experience regional cuisine at one of our favorite eatery, with wine pairings.
This morning, a local guide provides a private guided visit of the town of Beaune. Learn about After lunch (at leisure), we make our way to the countryside of Burgundy where we are expected at two different wineries for a visit and tasting. Along the way, we enjoy a beautiful drive among the rolling hills covered with vineyards and stop along the canal that crosses the region. For guests more interested in outdoor experiences, we would be delighted to organize horseback riding, biking or hiking. Tonight, dinner is in Beaune, at leisure and with our recommendations
After breakfast, we depart for Lyon. On the way, we are expected at Chateau de Bagnols for a lunch overlooking the vineyards. On arrival in Lyon, we are greeted by a local historian who takes you on a 3-hour walking tour of his city, to uncover its history and its importance within France, now and then! In the food capital of France, once can't ignore the countless small "bouchons" that line up the cobblestone streets of Old Lyon. Tonight, we enjoy our farewell dinner at one of them, in the form of a tasting menu and wine pairings.
Today, we must say goodbye. You are transferred to the airport, or the train station. For guests interested in more of Lyon, we recommend extending by one night, or hop on the high speed train for a 1 hour ride to Provence where we would be delighted to design a 2-3 day itinerary just for you.
