Today we greet you in Auckland and escort you across the bay to Waiheke Island. Our journey begins with a wine tasting and relaxed tapas-style lunch among the vineyards. Afterward, in true AIV style, we settle in our very own private villa and unwind before enjoying an optional in-room massage. As evening falls, gather for an intimate welcome dinner at the villa carefully crafted by our local Chef, then ease into the night… tomorrow, the adventure truly begins.

Upon arrival, we settle into the beautiful property located in Palliser Bay, and established in 1844. This will be our home for the next two nights. The morning is yours to enjoy with optional activities such as an ATV adventure, a farm tour, a guided visit of the capital, or simply a relaxed start of the day. The day truly comes alive at lunch with a gourmet picnic in the dunes prepared by the property’s chef, followed by a Soil Barrel Cellar experience hosted by the Wine Fairy. This evening, we gather for a delightful dinner at the property.

This morning, we cross to the South Island on a three-hour ferry journey celebrated for its majestic landscapes and the lovely surprises that often come with it, as whales and dolphins are frequently spotted in the narrow strait. Arriving in Picton early afternoon, we continue toward the Marlborough/Blenheim wine region, where a local seafood lunch awaits aboard a cruise vessel, paired with some of the best local wines. We then depart for Kaikōura, our home for the next two nights, where the day concludes with an indulgent tasting dinner at our luxury property.

After a morning at leisure, we take you up, up, and away for a jaw-dropping view of the action. With a 45 minute helicopter flight, you will certainly feel exhilarated (guests preferring to stay closer to the ground will be accommodated on a boat Whale sightseeing experience). Spot giant sperm whales, before flying further afield on a scenic tour of the spectacular mountains and sea surrounding Kaikoura. Dinner at the property in included.

This is an itinerary that includes a lot of driving (that's the nature of the country). The longest drive will be 4 hours.

Although rare, our itinerary may be subject to slight modification based on weather events or unexpected logistical challenges.

Gratuity is always appreciated and not included.

Our day-to-day itinerary may, from time to time and prior to departure, need to be altered or slightly modified to address possible unforeseen logistical and weather challenges. In such rare instances, Art In Voyage guarantees delivery of the content of the itinerary yet, in a different order.

All listed retreats (hotels, villas, and barges) are, at times, subject to changes. In such rare instances, similar or higher standards will be upheld.

Travel insurance, once purchased, goes into effect upon payment of the premium. You have 15 days from that date to cancel it (providing no claims have been filed or initiated during that period). Beyond 15 days, it becomes non-refundable/non-changeable/non-transferrable.

In case of a cancelation at more than 90 days prior to departure, your deposit will be returned minus a $1,000 per person administrative fee.

In case of a cancelation within the penalty period: Find a replacement at least 30 days prior to departure and your journey will be fully refunded, minus a $1,000 per person administrative fee.

How about extending?
With Australia less than a 3-hour flight away, why not visit Melbourne, Sydney or even the outback? Take advantage of being in that part of the world to extend to Australia, Indonesia, Singapore or make a stop in French Polynesia on the way home (ask us about it).
