Today we greet you in Auckland and escort you across the bay to Waiheke Island. Our journey begins with a wine tasting and relaxed tapas-style lunch among the vineyards. Afterward, in true AIV style, we settle in our very own private villa and unwind before enjoying an optional in-room massage. As evening falls, gather for an intimate welcome dinner at the villa carefully crafted by our local Chef, then ease into the night… tomorrow, the adventure truly begins.
Day two on Waiheke is guided by the legendary Wine Fairy, who leads us to two exceptional wineries with a relaxed and delicious lunch in between. Katie makes sure to collect all guests preferences to cater to all taste buds. After some time to relax and unwing, we end this lovely day with drinks and dinner at Mudbrick (own accunt)
This morning, we return to Auckland Airport by private boat transfer and board a direct flight to Wellington. Upon arrival, we settle into the beautiful property located in Palliser Bay, and established in 1844. This will be our home for the next two nights. The afternoon is at leisure, with optional experiences offered by the property or recommended by your host. Enjoy dinner at the property, at leisure (included)
Today is filled with unforgettable experiences that may make you wish for another night here. The morning is yours to enjoy with optional activities such as an ATV adventure, a farm tour, a guided visit of the capital, or simply a relaxed start of the day. The day truly comes alive at lunch with a gourmet picnic in the dunes prepared by the property’s chef, followed by a Soil Barrel Cellar experience hosted by the Wine Fairy. This evening, we gather for a delightful dinner at the property.
This morning, we cross to the South Island on a three-hour ferry journey celebrated for its majestic landscapes and the lovely surprises that often come with it, as whales and dolphins are frequently spotted in the narrow strait. Arriving in Picton early afternoon, we continue toward the Marlborough/Blenheim wine region, where a local seafood lunch awaits aboard a cruise vessel, paired with some of the best local wines. We then depart for Kaikōura, our home for the next two nights, where the day concludes with an indulgent tasting dinner at our luxury property.
After a morning at leisure, we take you up, up, and away for a jaw-dropping view of the action. With a 45 minute helicopter flight, you will certainly feel exhilarated (guests preferring to stay closer to the ground will be accommodated on a boat Whale sightseeing experience). Spot giant sperm whales, before flying further afield on a scenic tour of the spectacular mountains and sea surrounding Kaikoura. Dinner at the property in included.
Today will be the longest driving day. En-route we stop to stretch our legs, capture photographs, and explore local gems. Tonight, we gather for a private (and Kiwi astronomy-guide led) Star-gazing experience (weather dependent), complete with all the equipment needed for an evening to remember. Dinner will be at leisure.
Before we make our way to Glenorchy, guests may enjoy (on option) a scenic flight over nearby Mount Cook. A lunch stop on in Wānaka, famous for its most photographed tree, will be organized. As the scenery shifts from alpine landscapes to lake and mountain vistas, the journey itself becomes part of the experience. By day’s end, Glenorchy feels like stepping into a world all its own. Dinner will be at the property, at leisure (yet included).
Today is yours to Journey Your Way. While the morning is at leisure (the property boasts a lovely spa, or just enjoy a lazy morning), this afternoon, choose from three options included: The Wine, Food & Arts Trail (takes you to the homes and galleries of some of New Zealand’s pre-eminent artists coupled with sampling Otago’s finest wines and tastes along the way), Horse Riding or Kakaying. Tonight, we regroup for a lovely dinner at the property to share our fun experiences.
Morning at leisure before a short scenic flight* to Milford where you meet up with your hosts for an overnight cruise in the Sounds. Aboard the Fiordland Jewel, take in sheer cliffs, waterfalls, Mitre Peak, Seal Rock, and, if luck is on your side, dolphins, seals, or penguins. On board, settle into your perfect viewing spot, enjoy the crew’s commentary, and simply soak up one of New Zealand’s most spectacular natural shows. *weather dependent - Plan B is a 3h30 drive
After disembarking, we head into Queenstown by road, enjoying incredible scenery of the sounds and Southern lakes. The rest of the day is at leisure. Browse its chic boutiques, set off on one last adventure, or simply wander the waterfront and soak in the alpine beauty at a relaxed pace. This evening, we gather for a memorable farewell dinner, a final celebration of the extraordinary moments, flavors, and friendships that have shaped your New Zealand journey.
This morning, we accompany you to the airport for your onward flight home. Not quite ready to leave? Other parts of New Zealand invite a few tempting finales. Or continue onward via French Polynesia, with time in Bora Bora or Moorea. However you choose to end your journey, our travel experts are here to tailor the perfect next step.
Our day-to-day itinerary may, from time to time and prior to departure, need to be altered or slightly modified to address possible unforeseen logistical and weather challenges. In such rare instances, Art In Voyage guarantees delivery of the content of the itinerary yet, in a different order.
All listed retreats (hotels, villas, and barges) are, at times, subject to changes. In such rare instances, similar or higher standards will be upheld.
Travel insurance, once purchased, goes into effect upon payment of the premium. You have 15 days from that date to cancel it (providing no claims have been filed or initiated during that period). Beyond 15 days, it becomes non-refundable/non-changeable/non-transferrable.
In case of a cancelation at more than 90 days prior to departure, your deposit will be returned minus a $1,000 per person administrative fee.
In case of a cancelation within the penalty period: Find a replacement at least 30 days prior to departure and your journey will be fully refunded, minus a $1,000 per person administrative fee.
