Welcome to Provence, your home for the next 7 nights. After settling into your luxurious accommodation, enjoy the pool, and later, join us for a Provence-inspired aperitif on the patio. Tonight, Chef Fonzo prepares a traditional Provence Dinner, paired with local wines.
Today’s adventure begins with a leisurely lunch in the town of Avignon, home to the Pope's Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch at a Michelin-starred restaurant in the heart of the city, we make our way to L'Isle sur Sorgues, bustling with antique markets and glistening from the reflections of the numerous canals. As the day draws to a close, we head back to the property with some time to enjoy the pool, or a cocktail, before dinner is served by Chef Fonzo.
This morning we spend the day in an 18th-century farm of the famous "Provence Guarrigues" where Chef Paul awaits to lead a unique and memorable cooking class. There, you will learn about some of the local cuisines, dishes, and in-season products. It will be followed by lunch under the pine trees, overlooking Paul's Olive trees and lavender. Later this afternoon, we enjoy the villa's amenities before dinner at La Table d'Estoublon, paired with some of their wines.
Today, we head out to the Lavender areas of Provence. This full-day adventure has us start on the Plateau de Valensole and continues with a boat experience on the famous Gorges du Verdon. Your hosts have prepared a picnic enjoyed on the banks of the river. After a stop at ur favorite butcher in the neighboring town, we make our way back (and stop in Lavender fields along the way) to our villa where Chef Fonzo gets business with yet another lovely dinner.
Today, we introduce you to some of Provence's best-known wines. We start with Gigondas and Vacqueyras where we will indulge in a tasting, followed by lunch at our favorite Michelin-starred restaurant, l'Oustalet. We then make our way to a chateau in Châteauneuf du Pape for a wine-tasting experience at La Nerthe. As the sun sets, dinner will be prepared with wines from the Gigondas region.
This morning, we travel to the old capital of Provence, Aix en Provence (which happens to be our CEO's hometown), to meander through the historic streets and shops. After lunch at leisure, guests excited to keep on going may join us for a visit to Cassis where we enjoy wine tasting at one of the local estates, and views of the Mediterranean sea. Guests preferring a more relaxed afternoon will be taken back to the villa. Dinner is at the villa and paired with some of today's wines.
Our last day in Provence is at leisure. Yet, our concierge and hosts would be happy to add more to your agenda. Why not uncover the street of St Remy de Provence where Van Goh ended up doing some of his best work, or visit nearby Arles and its famous Roman sites & artifacts. Our farewell lunch is held at one of our favorite Michelin-starred restaurants in St Remy. After being well-fed and satisfied by a feast of all the senses, enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Tonight, a casual dinner will be enjoyed at the property, around the pool, and prepared by Chef Fonzo.

After meeting Mikael in 2019 during our AIV trip to Umbria, I knew I wanted to go to his homeland via the Taste of Provence journey. The trip was a perfect mix of wineries, Michelin restaurants, cooking with a chef on his farm, boating in a canyon lake, smelling the lavender, seeing the gorgeous countryside that inspired Van Gogh and Cezanne, and resting in the prettiest villa I’ve ever seen. We were pampered 24/7 – Mikael anticipated every need and took care of us while Kevin cooked the best French dishes every night. What I especially appreciate about AIV journeys is I don’t have to think, plan or worry – all I do is have fun and relax and enjoy the people I’m with (including Mikael and Kevin). Thank you to the entire AIV team for exceeding my expectations again – it was truly a trip of a lifetime. You’re the best!
The trip exceeded our expectations, the attention to detail was exemplary. Mikael and Kevin constantly made sure our wants and needs were taken care of. The dinners at the villa by Kevin were excellent and our and lunches at Michelin star restaurants were outstanding. The wine tastings the villa the views all were first class, we have already signed up for another trip in 2023.
Our day-to-day itinerary may, from time to time and prior to departure, need to be altered or slightly modified to address possible unforeseen logistical and weather challenges. In such rare instances, Art In Voyage guarantees delivery of the content of the itinerary yet, in a different order.
All listed retreats (hotels, villas, and barges) are, at times, subject to changes. In such rare instances, similar or higher standards will be upheld.
Travel insurance, once purchased, goes into effect upon payment of the premium. You have 15 days from that date to cancel it (providing no claims have been filed or initiated during that period). Beyond 15 days, it becomes non-refundable/non-changeable/non-transferrable.
In case of a cancelation at more than 90 days prior to departure, your deposit will be returned minus a $250 per person administrative fee.
In case of a cancelation within the penalty period: Find a replacement at least 30 days prior to departure and your journey will be fully refunded, minus a $250 per person administrative fee.
