This heritage property enjoys total and splendid isolation deep inside Argentina’s Los Glaciares National Park. For an experience of estancia-style romance, though without stinting on mod cons, home comforts and gourmet food, you’ll struggle to find a more inspiring setting. The five bungalows have four rooms each, named after local flora and fauna. Wall art is a tasteful mix of nature prints and black and white photographs of landscapes and portraits of indigenous Patagonians. The bedrooms are well heated and carpeted, brightly illuminated and airy, with window seating and two comfy chairs placed to enjoy great views through the bay window. Furniture such as bedside cabinets and trunks is plain and rustic, by design.

Chef Francisco and his team prepare exquisite buffet lunches and à la carte dinners; typical dishes include pasta with lamb ragout, ribeye steaks, grilled trout and veggie quiches. A lamb barbecue is offered every other day, with lots of sides. Delicious salads, using leaves grown on site, are welcome if you’ve been overdoing the empanadas and meat elsewhere. Lunch and dinner are served in the octagon-shaped main house, where the mood hits the sweet point between casual and intimate/romantic once the sun goes down.

Patagonia Camp was created so that each of the guests can feel and enjoy the wonderful nature of Patagonia from the comfort of their own private room. Their yurts (tents) provide guests a unique experience to be able to have an intimate contact with nature – the magical sounds of the wind blowing, rain falling and being able to see the stars all from the central dome of your private yurt. Their concept allows guests to experience one of the world’s most beautiful landscapes right from your windows alongside being surrounded by an incredible and aromatic native forest where our walkways and viewing platforms are located.

The name – Latin for "Southern Wind" – reflects Tierra del Fuego's distinctive weather, a factor that has long determined the region's socio-cultural development and that so impressed the early mariners who endeavored to explore Patagonia's southernmost waterways.

Tailor-made for exploring the remote southern tip of South America, all aspects of the 210-passenger ship -- including size, length, draft and engine power -- are designed to give Ventus Australis the extreme maneuverability necessary to navigate narrow fjords and channels where no other cruise ships can venture.

Asenav, the internationally acclaimed Chilean shipyard, is creating our latest masterpiece, just as they did with the three other expedition ships for Australis.
