Spello

Spello, Umbria, Italy

← All Destinations

Spello is a graceful Umbrian hill town between Assisi and Foligno, built in pink Subasio stone that glows at sunset. Roman gates and winding lanes lead to tiny piazzas, artisan workshops, and churches with Renaissance frescoes by Pinturicchio. Known for excellent olive oil and its flower festival, it’s a quiet, picture-perfect base for slow walks, views over the Valle Umbra, and relaxed meals of Umbrian classics.
