Exchange Rates

We guarantee the exchange rate at the time of booking.

02Cancellations, Modifications, Insurance & Passports

Cancellation by Art In Voyage

If your Journey is canceled by Art In Voyage and you, the guest, are not at fault, and have not already canceled, and are not in violation of any material terms of this Travel Agreement (including timely payment), then you will be refunded 100% of any payments properly made. This payment must come from our own insurance company and can take up to eight (8) weeks.

Single Supplement Charges

Sometimes a party of two becomes a party of one because one guest decides to cancel. Single supplement charges must be added to charges for the non-cancelling guest. These charges will be deducted from the refund owed to the person who cancels.

Cancelation of Airline Tickets

Art In Voyage may not be held responsible for the lack of refund, or penalty implementation, by airlines on canceled tickets, whether purchased by guests directly or with the assistance of Art In Voyage. Airlines have their own sets of rules and conditions.

Accommodation and Host Substitutions

On its hosted journeys, Art In Voyage reserves the right, when reasonably necessary, to replace any advertised accommodation and/or host to preserve the Journey's core values, atmosphere, group dynamic, operational integrity, and overall quality. Wherever reasonably available, replacement accommodations will be of a comparable or higher standard, and substitute hosts will be appropriately qualified and aligned with the character and purpose of the Journey. Such substitutions shall not constitute a cancellation or material alteration of the Journey and shall not, by themselves, entitle a traveler to a refund, credit, or compensation, provided that the essential nature and overall value of the Journey are maintained. Art In Voyage will notify affected travelers as soon as reasonably practicable.

Insurance Coverage & Consumer Protection Plans

Art In Voyage is fully bonded and insured. However, guests are encouraged to purchase their own travel insurance. As part of this agreement, Art In Voyage offers the opportunity to purchase travel insurance through preferred partners, which may include CSA Travel Protection (Generali), Allianz, AXA, Seven Corners, Berkshire Hathaway or World Nomad (Nationwide).

Departure & City Taxes

Some destinations, airlines or airports may charge a departure tax and/or city tax. These are not prepaid expenses and are never included in our Curated or Exclusive Journeys. These taxes will be assessed by local jurisdictions and must be paid by the guests on departure, unless otherwise noted.

Passports & Visas

You are solely responsible for complying with passport and visa requirements. For U.S. travelers, international travel requires a passport valid three (3) to six (6) months beyond your intended return travel date. It is recommended that you check with the U.S. Department of State website for the latest passport and visa requirements.

Travel Journals

Art In Voyage has developed and launched an APP that acts as a travel journey and companion. AIV TrueNorth is available on Apple and Android devices. The "travel journal" will be available on the app 20-30 days before the departure date. It is the guest's responsibility to carefully review all the events and details pertaining to all travel arrangements, as well as report any discrepancies before departure. Failure to do so may result in additional costs related to modifications.
