Upon your arrival in glorious Rome, you will be collected and whisked on an adventure that begins with a self-guided visit to Orvietto, followed by a lovely, leisurely lunch (own account). We then take a short drive to what will be your stunning home for the exciting week that lies ahead of you. In the evening, our chef will tantalize your palate with traditional cuisine and perfectly paired wine. We welcome you to Umbria, a mesmerizing place, indeed. Rest assured that your hosts will do their utmost to cater to your needs, all you have to do is revel in the luxury and delight of your surroundings.
On Sunday morning, we discover the incredible town of Assisi. Your private guide awaits for a 3-hour walking tour followed by lunch (own account) and the afternoon discovering the delights of the town and its intriguing shops - envisage eclectic trinkets! We then return to the estate where we have the opportunity to indulge in some leisure time, why not take a dip in the pool, or read a good book alongside it? Dinner and drinks will be served amidst the incredible views, as the sun sets over the impeccable estate.
After a lovely morning at leisure, we depart for Spello and its award-winning streets. There, flowers of all colors and shapes decorate ornate balconies and stairways. After lunch at leisure, we depart for the lovely town of Trevi where our guide/chef awaits for a short yet fulfilling tour. It is followed by truffle hunting and a truffle dinner at what was once a 12th-century church. dinner is paired with lovely wines from the Montefalco region.
Today we venture into Montefalco and start by visiting a family farm where animals, pepper the fields. We sample cheese and yogurt made from the cows, sheep and goat on the property. We then take a stroll through the beautiful hilltop village of Montefalco, where we become acquainted with the locals that produce linen and olive oil. To end our adventurous day, we visit another quaint farm, tucked behind the walls of the town. Here, great emphasis is placed on biodiversity - from honeybees, to geese, each animal is respected. We have lunch on the farm and dinner at the villa, where wine will flow freely.
Today, after a morning at leisure, our local chef introduces you to the art of making pasta and tiramisu in the comfort of our villa, all before lunch is served. After a quick "siesta," we head to Perugia, Italy's (contested) chocolate capital. There, we are hosted by local artisans, who demonstrate chocolate making. We will have the opportunity to sample the chocolates paired with dessert wine. On the way back to the property, we makes sure we stop by yet another one of her favorite wineries, this time, focused on organic wines. In the evening we enjoy a pizza night at the villa, where everyone is invited to participate and contribute.
Today, we cheat on Umbria and venture into Tuscany. Bordering on Umbria, we make our way Siena. Home to the famous "Palio", our local guide greets us for a short, yet fun tour of the city's main attractions. After lunch (on our own account), we make our way to our favorite winery: Felsina. Here, we are privy to a private and intimate tour of the cellars, followed by a tasting. In the evening, dinner will be prepared by our chef at the villa and served with excellent Tuscan wines picked by our local wine experts.
Today is yours to do as you please, do as much or as little as you please. Relax by the pool, or experience an array of exciting activities. Be it horseback riding and hiking, or shopping for locally made cashmere and ceramic products, we will be delighted to assist. Visit more attractions or enjoy another wine tasting and rest assured that our hosts will always be willing and able to make arrangements. In the evening, our farewell dinner will be held at one of our favorite local eateries, in the heart of a medieval town!
You transfer back to Rome will be included (to either the airport or a city - Transfers to other cities can be arranged). Why leave so soon, though? We’ve just returned home from an amazing trip to Umbria, Italy!! We had a fantastic time, the villa and its grounds were breathtaking!! Mikael & Kevin went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable vacation… and they succeeded!! Already booked our next trip with Art In Voyage!!
Wonderful week in Umbria. The food and wine were fabulous! Our daily tours were fun, and we learned a lot. It would be impossible to say what I liked the most, because everything was great! Our hosts went out of their way to make sure that all our needs were met. It was perfect!

All listed retreats (hotels, villas, and barges) are, at times, subject to changes. In such rare instances, similar or higher standards will be upheld.
Travel insurance, once purchased, goes into effect upon payment of the premium. You have 15 days from that date to cancel it (providing no claims have been filed or initiated during that period). Beyond 15 days, it becomes non-refundable/non-changeable/non-transferrable.
In case of a cancelation at more than 90 days prior to departure, your deposit will be returned minus a $250 per person administrative fee.
In case of a cancelation within the penalty period: Find a replacement at least 30 days prior to departure and your journey will be fully refunded, minus a $250 per person administrative fee.
