This morning, our chef takes us "foraging" for mushrooms, one of the reasons guests flock to the region. After drive winding up Marys Peak, west of Corvallis, we arrive in the Siuslaw National Forest. Envisage dense forest, perfect for mushroom hunting and kept lush by the coast, which you can see on a clear day. After a picnic amid ethereal beauty, we languorously return to Newberg. En-route we visit McMinville where we stop for several wine tastings that will certainly be the cherry (or mushroom) on top of a superb day. In the evening, dinner is at leisure, with our recommendations from your attentive AIV hosts.
